After years of exploring the nether regions of atmospheric rock with the group Darling, Seth Knappen releases his first solo effort, Leaving Sound, to be released this spring on Future Appletree.

Recorded at the Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth, MN, by Alan Sparhawk of Low, Leaving Sound is a shapeshifting, mood drifting blend of synth ambience and singer/songwriter craftsmanship. Using a variety of instruments to create lush, organic textures with expressive arrangements, Leaving Sound draws upon the correlations between the visual and the musical, using multilayered soundscapes to create a sense of transforming space, drawing pictures in sound with mood and melody.
