Sometime in 2006 (or so), philosophy student Kyle Ferguson sent a demo of his tune "Notes from a Solipsist" to be considered for the John Lennon songwriting contest. He tied for second place. Although pleased, he kept his head on his studies, but decided to commit his art to tape before moving on to grad school at CUNY in the fall 2007. With a little cash in the bank, Kyle enlisted friends and brother Peter and Tim Bowling (bass and cello respectively) to round out his group of mellow, intensely philosophical musical observations in the studio. As usual around the Futureappletree Studio 1 environs (now Daytrotter.com's Horseshack), the usual cast of characters appeared for overdubs and additions: Jamey Cummins (Parish Festival, Oliver Twists), Ryan Neubauer (Parish Festival), Phil Pracht (Oliver Twists, The Marlboro Chorus), Kristian Svennevig, a chorus of singers, and Tim and Peter's dad "Mr Bowling" on violin. Once completed, Kyle went on to CUNY and is now a student and teacher in the NYC area. This group of songs may be the only release from this group, and deserves repeated deep listens to glean all that it they have to offer.
